Evening Sunrise

Dedicated to Evalin Karijo

Tonight is quickly fading in the lights of the dying moon. Us, citizens of this global barbary.
We live in a world of agitation, wars
and delusion. Us, nations of the world.
We’re only momentary fireworks of heaven.
Us, peoples of a fragile dawn.
Policy is sometimes a crafty swamp,
truth, however, is apparently simple.
Will the sun shine at the end of the world?
We desperately need the purification of the ocean, the blessings of our ancestors,
to embrace our traditions.
Sun of blessings, cast your light upon us.
Light of our culture, be our shepherd.
We need the words of truth, of resistance,
to give hope to our country, to break
the silence, to love.
To heal the wounds of the past.
This is our testimony, this is our fate.
